New support for Word 2007
The world's most popular word processor changed. So did we.
LineupNX 2 can work with scripts
written with Word 2007, using the new DOCX format. This is in
addition to the existing support for earlier versions of Word along
with WordPerfect, Open Office Writer
and WordPad.
When Microsoft released Word 2007
they
made a substantial change to
the file format, opting to follow the lead of products like Open
Office and adopt a compressed XML file specification. That gave us a
small challenge at Baobab, the developers of LineupNX. We have always
given our users the option to use the word processor of their choice
for writing pack and documentary copy. LineupNX then manages the
naming and locations of these files, and opens and closes them for
you. When an item moves through the show development cycle,
LineupNX makes sure the
copy follows.
We have now included that
potential for Word 2007 as well. When LineupNX starts on your
desktop it looks for installed word processors and when it finds
them, makes them available. Now with LineupNX you have a choice...
Word or Word 2007 DOCX (as well as WordPerfect and Open
Office Writer).
And remember, if you have Word
(any version) installed, LineupNX can use its spell-check program to
correct spelling of your teleprompter copy as well. Again, rather
than start from scratch, we chose
to save you money and us development time by going
with what is already in the
market place. |
