LineupNX v2 Update

Video from the show on your desktop The big boys do it. Now so do we.  LineupNX 2 will let you preview digital video right on your desktop. This has been a feature that is in demand with digital storage and playback becoming more common in many production and webcasting environments. For us in program development at Baobab, the challenge was to included video preview in the simplest way possible. Rather than start from scratch we turned to the existing open source video players already available and incorporated support for them into LineupNX. This approach has two distinct advantages: Users get the advantage of existing, well-tested and supported video playback with no codec setup or other complications. It is no fuss, no muss all the way. You can even update the video players on your own whenever new versions are available and that is always free. And because these programs are already written, we can keep the price of LineupNX low. We don't have to reinvent the wheel. The good news is that there are some extremely good open source products available and we are actually including two of them with LineupNX v2. You choose the one you want to use as your standard preview player. We also provide two separate interfaces for one of the players. Simple readiness indication When video that goes with a story has been loaded onto the video server, the LineupNX rundown changes colour for the particular item. Put the cursor over the item and press the spacebar and the video starts playing almost instantly. On screen display lets you time the cues for keys and supers with ease.
